Grade Level:
(Upper) Elementary (Ages 10–12)
Objective:
Ss will explore cultural diversity by researching and presenting a global festival or holiday. They will learn about the traditions, food, clothing, music, and history behind the celebration, then create a project (craft object related to the festival & video presentation) to share their findings with the class.
Aim:
Ss will gain a deeper understanding of global cultures and the importance of festivals in uniting communities. They'll also develop research, presentation, and creative skills while learning to appreciate the diversity of traditions around the world.
Type of avtivity:
inquiry-based & project-based learning, with a strong interdisciplinary approach (STEAM integration), engaging Ss with real-world cultural practices, promoting collaboration, critical thinking and experiential learning.
Duration:
8 hours (4 weeks- 2 hours/week, not restrictively)
Use of technology:
exploration of online resourcesfor research, utilization of platforms such as PowerPoint, Canva & Clipchamp for the organization and the presentation of the information, collaboration through tools like Google Docs or educational platforms like ZOOM.
